Day one, drawing the mural sketch. Yes it was frigid cold in Florida on Jan. 23. The Art Center teamed up with HandsOn Jax and volunteers to work on a mural covering the entire module in the center of a low income housing area off Golfair on the northside of Jacksonville. TAC artists have been giving their Saturdays up to accomplish this mural and work in the community. Stay tuned for updates and the final mural revealed.Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Images of Dignity
I did four images of women titled Joseph's Tunic I, II, III and IV, getting inspiration from the "coat of many colors", but implementing multiple designs found on fabric. For this show all the images were framed together, but they can stand alone. I plan to carry these images further and print them on colorful backgrounds incorporating the "many colors". This show was at the Karpeles Manuscript Library and Museum sponsored by JCAAA (Jacksonville Consortium of African American Artists) for the month of April.
